Developed between the 1920’s and the 1950’s, the neighborhood’s palm tree lined streets contain approximately 1,750 homes in a range of architectural styles. View Park is the largest National Register historic African American district in the country, and the largest in California in terms of property owners. View Park is considered by many resources to be the wealthiest African-American community in the United States.
