Funny. I approach mixing music with the same kind of work ethic that I cultivated in 30 years of pediatric critical care and running ventilators for children and infants. I believe in intense attention to detail, rechecking myself 3-5 times and then doing it all again, constant review and learning, and a deep commitment to introspection and continual self assessment. You HAVE to have INTENSE attention to detail to mix music. It is an absolute necessity. That is one of the reasons a lot of those who WRITE music do not MIX their own music. I happen to like it, but it is tedious and definitely not for everyone.
